After the success of last year’s golf day in support of our charity partner, Blesma, we were delighted to host another fantastic tournament this summer. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, we raised an incredible £2,500 to donate to this amazing cause.
Blesma became one of our chosen charity partners because of the remarkable work they do to support injured veterans. Their focus on helping those who have lost limbs or sight regain independence and lead fulfilling lives truly resonated with us. What sets Blesma apart is their holistic approach, they don’t just assist the individual, but also provide vital support to their families. It’s a privilege to contribute to such a meaningful cause, and we’re proud that the money we raise can help further their impactful work.
We were privileged to be joined by several Blesma members, who played alongside the teams throughout the day. Hearing their personal stories and learning how Blesma has supported them brought real meaning to the event and reminded us all why fundraising like this matters. Their presence made a lasting impression on everyone involved.
In addition to hosting the golf day, we were proud to donate two brand-new Rascal scooters to Blesma members, as part of our ongoing commitment to donate four scooters each year.
The sun was shining over Maylands Golf Course, helping to lift spirits and make the day even more enjoyable. Our mobile tuck shop proved popular, offering cold refreshments in exchange for donations , this was much appreciated by guests in the summer heat!
Along the course, players stopped off at a few fun challenge tents, including the ever-popular “Beat the Pro,” where only a few managed to come out victorious against our seasoned golf expert. The “Nearest the Gin” challenge—our playful twist on the classic nearest-the-pin competition, brought plenty of laughs as players aimed their shots at the gin bottle 175 yards down the fairway. These light-hearted challenges added to the fun of the day and kept the energy high between holes.
Once all 18 holes had been played, everyone gathered back at the clubhouse to relax with a cold drink and kick off the evening celebrations. Raffle tickets were sold, and the excitement continued as the prize draws got underway. Guests then enjoyed a delicious two-course meal before heading home after a fantastic day.
