Carers Support Helplines

Carer’s UK

Carer’s UK provide a helpline to assist with benefits and financial support, your rights as a carer, services available to you, and carer’s assessments.

The telephone Helpline is available on 0808 808 7777 from Monday to Friday, 9am – 6pm or you can contact us by email ([email protected])

Samaritans

Samaritans is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on 116 123. If you need someone to talk to, they’ll listen.

Older people

Age UK

Age UK provides support for carers and older people who may be in need of support. Call 0800 055 6112 (England), 0800 022 3444 (Wales), 0800 124 4222 (Scotland), or 0808 808 7575 (Northern Ireland).

Independent Age

This helpline is for older people, and offers advice about care, financial issues, and health and wellbeing. Call 0808 503 7945 between 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, or email [email protected].

The Silver Line

This helpline provides free, confidential advice just for older people. Call 0800 4 70 80 90 any day of the year, 24 hours a day.

Money and benefits

Money Helper

This money helpline is useful if you need to talk specifically about money and benefits, and any other financial issues. Call 0800 138 7777 Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.

Citizens Advice

Citizens advice provides free, confidential advice on money and benefits, as well as a number of other issues such as workplace related incidents. Call 0800 144 8848 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Dementia specific helplines

Dementia UK

Dementia UK has a free, confidential helpline where you can receive information and advice on any aspect of dementia from a trained Admiral Nurse.The Helpline is open Monday to Friday 9am to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm on 0800 888 6678. Alzheimer’s Society

Alzheimer’s Society provides support on all aspects of dementia, both for carers and people living with dementia.Call on 0333 150 3456.
