A mobility scooter gives you the freedom to get around and retain your independent lifestyle. That’s why we believe that costly repairs shouldn’t hold you back.

Our Mobility Scooter Extended Warranty is an optional add-on to our mobility scooter insurance policies, designed to extend the warranty period on your scooter. Covering you for electrical breakdown or mechanical failure allows you to have complete peace of mind with the knowledge that the repairs on your mobility scooter are covered. You must purchase a mobility scooter insurance policy with us to buy this add-on.

Whilst most mobility scooter shops provide a basic manufacturer’s warranty when you purchase a scooter, this warranty is often only for the first 12 months. We offer an extended warranty for scooters that are 4 years and younger to continue the hassle-free journey.

There are no excess payments on any of our mobility scooter insurance policies and no hidden fees. Much like our insurance policies you can add this extra on and pay monthly for mobility scooter extended warranty from £6 per month or when taking out an annual policy from £60 in addition to your insurance premium.

What is Mobility Scooter Warranty?

If your scooter breaks down due to an electrical or mechanical fault, you can relax with the knowledge that we will handle the full cost of repairs from start to finish. From the cost of the parts, call out fees and labour costs. Meaning that you no longer have to worry about large repair bills.

Getting you back on the road quickly is our top priority. That’s why our dedicated claims team is here to help. If your scooter encounters an electrical or mechanical breakdown, we make the claims process fast and straightforward. Our experts will answer any questions you have and handle all aspects of your claim efficiently.

Some Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add this Extended Warranty to my policy mid-term?

Much like our other added extras, this can not be added on mid-term. However, Extended Warranty can be added on at the renewal stage. Even if you spread the cost of your policy monthly, it still would count as an annual policy.

My Scooter is brand new, can I add an Extended Warranty to my policy?

If you have just purchased a scooter brand new, it is more than likely you will already have some warranty that comes with the scooter. You should wait until your manufacturer warranty has expired before adding it to your policy with us, which is why we start our offerings at one-year-old scooters. It is important to check how many years your warranty lasts, as some may have longer warranties. Having two lots of warranty can invalidate your policy with us.

When does my cover begin?

You have a 7-day moratorium period whereby you cannot submit a claim. After seven days, your extended warranty cover will be valid on your policy.

Am I covered if I had a mechanical and electrical breakdown on my scooter?

Absolutely! This add-on is designed to cover you if you were to have a mechanical and electrical breakdown.

I have left my scooter outside and uncovered; can I claim for rust damage?

Unfortunately, our policy states that for your scooter to be covered by our insurance, you must leave your scooter covered, out of sight from passers-by (preferably in the back garden) and attached to an immovable object- when left for extended periods of time. If your scooter has been exposed to the elements and has started to rust, we will not cover this under our warranty.

Can you contact the repairer and handle this all for me?

Whilst we are happy to assist you with finding a repairer, we do ask that you are the one to organise the initial call out and we will reimburse you the cost.

Is my family member able to contact you on my behalf?

Yes of course you can have an appointed representative in the form or a family member or friend. You just need to let us know when taking out your policy and we can add a nominated contact to your record.

If my scooter is unable to be repaired due to unforeseen electrical or mechanical faults will you pay the replacement value?

If our risk team deem your scooter to be beyond economical repair (BER) then for item(s) less than two years old at the time of an insured event, we will replace Old for New. If the item(s) is older than two years we will pay 60% of the current market value at the time of the insured event.

I have a flat battery, is this covered under warranty?

Unfortunately, batteries and wear and tear are excluded from this policy.

Do I still need to have my puncture care add-on as well as this?

Yes, our warranty covers you for electrical or mechanical faults, not if you were to obtain a tyre puncture.

If I am abroad and my scooter has a mechanical or electrical fault am I still covered?

Yes, the same warranty applies when you are travelling abroad for up to 90 days (excluding North America and Canada). However, to proceed with a claim, the scooter would need to be inspected by a UK-based mechanic and repaired in the UK. We can only accept assessment reports from mechanics located in the UK.
